Travel offices were traditionally designed to look like corporate offices which adhered to the aesthetics that connected with the travelers it catered to, who were mostly business travelers. ‘Today the concept of travel has changed. The world is better connected, an urban populace better informed and a diverse demographic with a greater desire to explore to enrich one’s experience.’

The office has been designed not just as an agency for ticketing but as a lounge where narratives of travel, experiences, exotic destinations are pieced together to create a pre travel experience. It has been designed to look at Travel as Retail where there is a focus to create an experience while you shop rather than just as a point of picking up a ticket. The travel lounge is inviting, relaxing and sophisticated yet warm.

The primary design challenge was in transforming a traditional office layout of a reception, lobby, work spaces, office cubicles and group discussion spaces and to create a visually connected open work space with a mix of smaller private spaces in a relatively small available area. The challenge was also to envision and design enriching spaces for a traditional workspace, so as to create memories and experiences similar to hospitality projects.
